Lavender Brown is a FunkRock Blues explosion raves Y-100's Music Director/Host of Y-Not - Dan Fein. Lavender Brown is a rag-tag group of frustrated youngin's trying to stay a float in a sea of Punk, Pop, and Rap/Rock. There only possessions are a lifeboat made of musicianship and life jackets made of hope. Oh yeah, I almost forgot their volleyball with a face painted on it All Jokes aside these are serious musicians. In the past 4 years The Brown have been featured on radio shows like Philadelphia's Y-100 Y-Not and Atlantic City's WZXL morning show for their original music. Some of their more notable achievements are recently being nominated Best up and coming Band in Philly, being chosen to compete in the Lucky Strikes Cigarettes Band to Band Competition, playing at the New Jersey State BBQ Championship's, performing in the Bash at the Beach festival in both 2000 and 2001, and frequently jamming at Y-100's Tuesday Music Club. They have gigged at the Trocedero, CBGB's, Brownies 23 East, Schooner's, the Grape St. Pub, Abilene's, the Pontiac Grille and so on. An amazing display of musicianship that makes their live performance worth coming to see Says Chris Fraley, of KMA Records/engineer at Philadelphia radio 90.9.
